He goes "Hi AMY!" i said no this isnt amy. he goes "Hi ALICE!" i said he got the wrong number my name aint alice or amy. and then he goes "HI ANNIE!" and then i hung up.

Under what name is your phone number listed? If it’s "A." [Your Last Name] then he was just groping for the name "A" stood for. He obvious didn’t know anyone at your number so you should have just hung up on him. He was cold calling (telemarketing to sell something). If he could get a name from you, next time he called he’d have asked for the name you gave him. Some people would have answered the phone and when he said "Hi Amy" they would have said, oh, this is not Amy, it’s Alana, there is no Amy here. And the guy would write down on his call list "Alana" and used that name when he called next time, and he’s sell his list to other telemarketers and they’d be able to call your number and ask for Alana.
